Nanopower participation to the "Phonons and Fluctuations meeting", Paris 9th November 2010
Two partners of Nanopower consortium, Jouni Ahopelto (VTT) and Clivia M Sotomayor Torres (Catalan Institute of Nanotechnology), togher with Sebastian Volz (ECP) are the organisers of the Phonons and Fluctuations meeting that is taking place at the Langevin Amphitheater, Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielle de Paris, on November 9th, 2010. The meeting aims at bringing the "phonon and fluctuations" communities together seeking convergence of partners of different projects, networks, conference series, such as NANOICT, the CNRS network, NANO-TEC, NANOFUNCTION, NANOPOWER, ZEROPOWER, the school series Son et Lumiere, etc, in order to address topics of general concern, discuss the research trends and applications of, for example, thermal management on the nano scale, low energy ICT, nanophononics, the role of noise in ICT research and emerging design issues in future ICT. The workshop has a combined character of touching base on the state of the art and vision in these fields. Luca Gammaitoni, NiPS Laboratory - University of Perugia, contributes with a talk on "Noise driven ICT". Lukas Worschech and Fabian Hartmann from University of Wuerzburg present a poster on "Universal and reconfigurable logic gates in a compact three-terminal resonant tunneling diode".
